The 6G-Cloud project was represented at Mobile World Congress 2026 in Barcelona, one of the world’s leading events for connectivity, mobile technologies, and digital innovation.
During the event, the project was showcased at the booth of BubbleRAN, with the participation of project partners VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland and Ubiwhere. Their presence highlighted the work carried out within the project towards enabling next-generation cloud-native network infrastructures.
As part of the exhibition, BubbleRAN presented a live demonstration exploring cloud-native RAN architectures and distributed control concepts for future 6G networks. The demo showcased a prototype architecture based on a service-based framework, illustrating how distributed network control and edge capabilities can support advanced and interactive applications enabled by next-generation infrastructures.
By demonstrating how cloud-native principles can be applied to radio access networks, the presentation provided insights into how future communication systems may become more flexible, programmable, and capable of supporting emerging services requiring low latency and intelligent orchestration.
Mobile World Congress continues to serve as an important platform for bringing together industry leaders, research organisations, and technology innovators. Events like MWC play a key role in fostering collaboration across the ecosystem and showcasing the progress being made towards the development of future 6G networks.
The participation of project partners at MWC 2026 reflects the strong engagement of the 6G-Cloud consortium in shaping the evolution of cloud-native telecom infrastructures and contributing to the advancement of the European 6G research landscape.
