6G-Cloud is proud to announce that our paper titled “Dynamic Load Balancing in SD-WAN with Deep Reinforcement Learning” has been accepted and will be presented at IEEE GLOBECOM 2025, one of the flagship conferences of the IEEE Communications Society. The conference will be held in Taipei, Taiwan, under the theme “Sustainable Communications for Ubiquitous Intelligence”.

We will demonstrate how the 6G-Cloud project leverages Deep Reinforcement Learning to design adaptive load-balancing policies for SD-WAN environments. Our approach responds to dynamic and unpredictable network conditions — such as transient congestion and heterogeneous traffic patterns — by continuously selecting the most suitable underlay for each flow. Simulation results show significant performance improvements over state-of-the-art static policies, particularly in bandwidth-asymmetric and bursty traffic scenarios, highlighting the potential of AI-driven approaches to enhance efficiency and robustness in real-world SD-WAN deployments.

Our participation reinforces 6G-Cloud’s role in shaping future communications by contributing to advanced AI-based network resource management. Attending GLOBECOM will also enable networking with leading researchers and industry stakeholders, exploring synergies around dynamic orchestration, resilient cloud continuums and sustainable network systems.
